John Stark became KLCC's General Manager in February 2013. He came to KLCC after 19 years managing KNAU Arizona Public Radio in Flagstaff.  John was elected to two terms on the NPR board of directors. In 2000, he was named  Public Radio General Manager of the Year.   John previously worked as program director at KNPR Las Vegas, associate producer of NPR's Morning Edition in Washington, and news director of Radio Bilingue in Fresno. 

He is married to Kris Stark.  He was raised in Boulder where he graduated from the University of Colorado. He is an avid Grand Canyon backcountry hiker and served as chair of the Grand Canyon Association – www.grandcanyon.org
